Vintage Space-Age Pouf/footstool In Orange Jersey By Pierre Paulin Old Edition Artifort, 1960.

Here is a superb Mushroom pouf/footstool model P561 by the famous French designer Pierre Paulin, old Artifort edition from 1960. Inspired by nature, like many of Pierre Paulin’s productions, the P561 pouf is part of the “Mushroom” collection created in 1959. It was accompanied by the P560 armchair which is a legless armchair composed of a rigid shell, with foam padding and a jersey covering, a very recurring material in Pierre Paulin’s pieces. This same Jersey also covers the Mushroom pouf which is designed from a metal structure covered in foam, and finished with a white wooden base for the old Artifort editions like this one. The Mushroom collection is probably one of designer Pierre Paulin’s most famous collections. He himself considered it one of his most accomplished works. The pouf is in very good general condition. The moss is in good condition and has not dried out at all. The original orange Jersey fabric is also in good condition: no stains, tears or tears, it is still well stretched, has been cleaned.
